Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as low engineering complexity. Ensure that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. The work model for this role (onsite) This role is contributing to Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries based in Doha Qatar. You will be mainly accountable for: •All engineering disciplines - evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria performing task or sequence of tasks, for conventional projects with few complex features. •Reviewing all project / service documents for conformity, safety, and quality assurance. •Anticipating and solving crucial issues and/or unique conditions. •Serving as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods. •Collaborating/Providing technical support on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors. •Applying Design Thinking / Design for Excellence concepts in projects/ services including modelling, proto-typing, simulation and calculations. •Utilizing checklists performing design verification according to applicable standards, project specifications and engineering guidelines. •Actively contributing and sharing experiences in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes. •Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices and lessons learned from past projects. •Working with the customer, contractors, suppliers to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements. •Finalizing ‘Fail-Safe Philosophy’ and other key concepts as part of Kick-Off and Design Freeze Meetings. •Participating in projects & service contract meetings and resolving any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations. •Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs. •Assisting in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal. •Reporting processes and tools inefficiencies and suggesting ideas for improvements. •Assessing and addressing (strategizing mitigation) technical risks and opportunities. •Reporting any contract / safety / quality / program / cost issues to Project Manager(s) along with recommendations, for resolution. •Identifying opportunities for repeating and new businesses •Ensuring Bill of Material (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations; and project gross margin requirements by not generating Project Left-Over Material (PLOM). •Identifying and implementing variation requests supporting contract claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.) based on the approval from Project Manager •Overseeing the creation of subcontracts and managing the subcontractors jointly with other involved disciplines, including supply chain management. •Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects in consultation with respective Project Managers and ensuring quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost. •Preparing RFQs to meet contractual requirements, specifications and provides technical evaluation of suppliers’ proposals. •Coordinating with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/ staged and tested. •Coordinating with Commissioning / Service functions ensuring the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned (if applicable as part of the contract). •Ensuring the engineering deliverables are updated post installation & commissioning (if applicable).

Qualifications for the role

• Graduate Engineer in Electrical/ Electronic/ instrumentation Engineering
• Minimum 10 years ( in ABB Infi90 / Symphony Plus, 800x A)
• Good hands-on experience as Project Lead for system 800x A based control system (both hardware and software) with Infi90 / symphony Plus / system 800x A -based application development – project & commissioning
• Hands on experience in system installation, configuration, testing, commissioning and mainte-nance.
• Hands on Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration, Firewall configuration,
• Hands on experience in Cyber security solutions for 800x A systems. Able to do cybersecurity audits and assessments.
• Cyber security implementation experience with various industry standard software and tools.
• Be an analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient and highly adaptable- in line with ABB’s latest advance service & digital portfolio
• Hands on Experience in industrial communication protocols like Modbus- RTU & TCP, OPC etc
