Project Objective:
We help maintain and enhance software for a company in the social services industry. Currently, we are finalizing the migration of one of the components of an existing .NET Framework-based application, which is currently hosted on IIS/Windows, to .NET 8.0, targeting a Linux/Kubernetes environment. As part of the current scope, we have also redesigned parts of the system to take advantage of a microservice architecture, utilizing Rabbit MQ.
Joining the project is expected from January 2025
Next Scope:
In the upcoming phase, we will be focusing on new development in entirely different parts of the system, expanding beyond the modules addressed in the current scope. This will involve building additional functionalities and features. Alongside this new development, we will continue to maintain the system components already migrated and redesigned, ensuring ongoing support and providing bug fixes as needed to maintain system stability.
We are seeking individuals with quick or immediate availability to contribute to this critical phase of the project.
- Implementing new features in the core component of the system using .NET 8 (and sometimes React)
- Ensuring best quality and highest standards of development
- Performing comprehensive testing, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Addressing any performance issues to meet or exceed current performance benchmarks.
- Work as part of a larger team, including a Project Manager, 4-6 Developers, and 1-2 QA Engineers.
- Collaborate with the client's technical team to ensure a seamless migration process.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation plans to address potential challenges.
- Ensure adherence to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to stakeholders, keeping them informed of tasks status.
- Proficient in C#, .NET Core/8.0 (nice to have .NET Framework)
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Experience with React
- Experience with message brokers, preferably Rabbit MQ
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins
- Knowledge of database technologies, particularly MS SQL Server and/or Postgre SQL
- A team player with the ability to work independently and effectively
- Strong communication skills
- .NET Core: The core technology used for the existing application.
- Entity Framework: Used for data access and ORM (Object-Relational Mapping).
- Postgre SQL: The primary database system in use
- React: For changes in the UI of upcoming phase
- Messaging (preferably Rabbit MQ): For implementation of asynchronous communication replacing current approach based on DB.
- Kubernetes: Used to enable scalability of the module
- Blazor: In next scopes we might need to migrate some front end components
- ASP.NET Web Forms: Currently in use and may be part of future migration scopes (could be out of the current scope).
- WCF (Windows Communication Foundation): Used for building service-oriented applications.
