Role Overview
The paraplanner will support financial planners by producing Statements of Advice (SOAs) and Records of Advice (ROAs) for both new and existing clients, focusing on complex financial advice strategies. Additionally, they will conduct audit and compliance vetting, ensuring all advice and client files meet stringent regulatory and licensee standards.
Key Responsibilities
· SOA & ROA Preparation: Create and update Statements of Advice for new clients and Records of Advice for existing clients under ongoing service agreements, especially when there are significant changes in client circumstances.
· Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with financial planners to develop tailored, strategic financial advice, including specialist areas like Self-Managed Superannuation (SMSFs), Aged Care Advice, and other complex solutions.
· Audit & Compliance Vetting: Conduct audit and compliance checks on adviser files 1-2 days per week to ensure adherence to Australian Financial Planning Laws, licensee guidelines, and high compliance standards.
· Review Support: Gather supporting information and review documentation in preparation for existing client review appointments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Technology Use: Utilize Dash (financial planning software and CRM platform), with experience in Adviser Logic, Xplan, IRESS, or similar advice construction platforms being highly valued.
Requirements
· Experience: 5-7 years as a paraplanner with Australian financial planners, specifically with expertise in strategy development, complex financial advice (e.g., SMSFs, aged care, estate planning), and producing SOAs/ROAs.
· Knowledge Base: Up-to-date knowledge of Australian Financial Planning Laws, compliance obligations, and a strong understanding of industry regulations.
· Audit & Compliance: Proven experience in file review and compliance vetting, ensuring all documentation meets high standards.
· Technology Proficiency: Experience in financial modeling and using platforms such as Adviser Logic, Xplan, or IRESS, with Dash experience being a bonus (training provided if needed).
· Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, good business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a growing licensee.
