Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, including nursing homes and teaching hospitals. Your expertise in psychopharmacology and patient management will be essential in delivering high-quality psychiatric services. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Duties

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and monitor their effects, ensuring safe medication practices.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients as needed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with ICD-10 standards.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management.
• Participate in clinical rounds at nursing homes or teaching hospitals as required.
• Stay informed about current best practices in psychiatric care, including infectious disease care and pediatric considerations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
• Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience in psychopharmacology, preferably within nursing home or ER settings.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and medication administration protocols.
• Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding related to psychiatric diagnoses.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in the field of mental health.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $65.00 - $68.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
