We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic interior design and build team. This role is pivotal in ensuring project cost accuracy, budget management, and financial feasibility while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, designers, and procurement teams to provide detailed cost estimates and insights that drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation and Analysis:

• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to ensure project viability.
• Provide cost breakdowns and summaries for internal and client-facing reports.

Tendering and BOQ Preparation:

• Prepare comprehensive bills of quantities (BOQs) based on detailed drawings and project requirements.
• Develop competitive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
• Submit and present tenders, answering queries from clients or consultants as needed.

Market Research and Procurement Coordination:

• Research market trends, supplier rates, and construction methods to ensure accurate cost forecasts.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to source and negotiate pricing for materials and services.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and quality materials.

Project Support and Cost Management:

• Monitor and update project costs throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes or additional requirements.
• Work with the design team to identify cost-saving options through value engineering, ensuring budget adherence without compromising design intent.
• Provide insights into budget overruns, delays, or risks to support proactive decision-making.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of all cost estimates, bid documents, and pricing databases for future reference.
• Generate detailed reports for internal stakeholders and clients, summarizing project costs, variations, and budget status.
• Stay updated with industry trends, price fluctuations, and economic factors affecting construction costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience as an estimator in the interior design and build or construction industry.
• Proven track record of preparing successful tenders and managing project budgets.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in estimation and takeoff software (e.g., Plan Swift, Bluebeam, Cost X) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced knowledge of materials, finishes, and construction methods specific to interior design and fit-out projects.
• Familiarity with Auto CAD, Revit, or similar design software is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Other Requirements:
• Knowledge of local market rates and suppliers in Sultanate of Oman
• Fluency in English.
