Wellbeing Lead - Resident Doctors Support Services

The Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) has been established to support the efficient delivery of a well, well-trained medical workforce for today and into the future. Our small national team is supported with a strong network of local Resident Medical Officer (RMO) units, who deliver support services to the RMOs in our health system.
We are looking for a doctor to join our dedicated team, one who is as passionate about the future of our medical workforce as we are. We know that when RMOs are well-supported in their training, education and employment they are better able to meet the diverse needs of their patients and contribute positively to the overall health and wellbeing of their communities.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity in a newly established role. The Wellbeing Lead will develop and implement robust systems level well-being programmes to actively support and contribute to the achievement of our vision for a well, and well-trained resident doctor workforce.
The Wellbeing Lead will connect with local kaimahi health and well-being services and the clinicians specifically responsible for resident doctors both individually and collectively as they migrate around Health NZ and will also be the key link for the resident doctors health and safety committee.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Experienced in developing and implementing mental and physical health and wellbeing programmes for a diverse workforce.
- Demonstrates willingness, and ability, to build constructive/effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context – minimum of 7 years.
- Ideally would have some prior experience working with and supporting RMOs, for example as a supervisor of training, prevocational training supervisor or clinical supervisor.
- Annual Practicing Certificate
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
