Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to health and wellbeing education in Aotearoa New Zealand. The role is underpinned by principles of social justice, bicultural practice and empowering others to promote personal and social change. The focus of this role will be organizing placements, interviews and liaising with workplaces, including site visits. The you will liaise with students, supporting and guiding them throughout their placement. There will also be marking of tests, assignments and exams. Prior teaching experience is desirable, although not essential. A learner focused approach to supporting students to achieve desired aspirations and outcomes is essential. You will ideally have a degree in a related discipline, along with experience as a health or wellbeing practitioner.
This role will suit a person who has experience working in the wider Health & Wellbeing sector, who is committed to changing lives through opportunities brought about by education. Prior teaching experience is desirable, although not essential. A learner focused approach to supporting students to achieve desired aspirations and outcomes is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a practical commitment to Tiriti o Waitangi and building knowledge of te ao Māori. They will be confident in applying kaupapa Māori principles and matauranga Māori to learning and development in the programme.

  • Flexibility to work in a range of courses throughout the Department
  • Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities and meet deadlines
  • Engagement with assessment and feedback processes
  • Teaching experience preferable
  • Digital literacy including - competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
