The opportunity - Te tūranga
The Solutions Architect will work to set the strategic direction and establish the approach for TVNZ's system architecture, development, security, resiliency and operations efficiency from business and technology standpoint. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the architecture squad to stablish disciplines towards the strategic direction.
This role has a strong focus on architecture roadmap, producing reference architecture to align with TVNZ's technology strategy and documenting fit-for-purpose solutions architecture design (Functional and Non-Functional) with business value justification.
You will be working with various stakeholders across TVNZ, managing expectations and being able to gather requirements with functional and non-functional specifications. That's including assessing the current software systems in place to identify areas for improvements that aligns with the wider strategy. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar with Cloud Adoption Framework (5Rs), experienced with software system assessment process and tooling, being able to develop migration
This is a 12-month fixed term contract

What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei
To be successful in this role, we are looking for
- Experience in the Media industry; in a context of video streaming and audience enrichment domains.
- Proven experience in AWS and Azure Cloud solution design and services (such as API Gateway, Lambda, Cloud Formation, VPC, SNS, SQS, RDS, Azure Data factory, ADLS, Logic App, Azure Functions and other services).
- Skilled in Container and Serverless architecture.
- Experience of data centric solutions to drive decisions and actions.
- Able to apply well architected and security principles to solutions.
- Proficient in micro-service architecture with RESTFul APIs and design patterns.
- Experience in integration systems/applications with other systems/applications.
- Experience with API modelling and related tooling.
- Experience with at least one of the OOP languages (Java, C# or node js).
- Understands how different implementations of design patterns can impact cost & futureproofing.
- Track records of solutioning observabilities and monitoring.
- Knowledge of cloud economics, TCO assessment, and cost optimization.
- Familiar with Cloud Adoption Framework (5Rs) for migration strategies.
- Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum practice working in a Squad based model.
- Solid experience with Dev Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Ia C).
- Experience in the Media industry ideally with cross platform integration (linear and OTT, VOD) and content delivery (advantageous).
- Experience in Video processing, storage, streaming and players (advantageous).
- Experience in advertising technology solutions including google ad manager (GAM) (advantageous).
- Capable of assessing software systems for improvements aligned with strategic goals (advantageous).
