The South Canterbury Museum is a treasured community resource and we need another creative educator to bring our district’s rich heritage alive!
The successful applicant will work as part of the museum education team to develop, promote and deliver innovative and interactive education programmes, that share our district’s story, as part of the Museum’s Enriching Local Curriculum (ELC) service. We need you to bring your energy, enthusiasm and confidence to drive and run our successful programmes that highlight cultural, historical and environmental significance.
This role enables you to have a positive impact on students’ learning outcomes in an education-rich, inspiring setting.
Your passion for local heritage and commitment to inspiring young learners will be crucial in the development of programmes and resources that are meaningful, challenging and interesting.
You will have excellent communication, planning and presenting capabilities. Bonus points if you have a good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga Maori and excellent pronunciation of Te Reo Māori. A teaching qualification, experience in the classroom or knowledge of the NZ curriculum is desirable.
This permanent part-time position and offers 16 hours per week, scheduled for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, or as otherwise mutually agreed. The hourly rate for this role is $36.72 - $43.20. Check out a copy of the position description here. For further information please email us at jobs@timdc.govt.nz.
