About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:
Are you a recent engineering graduate eager to kickstart your career in a dynamic and impactful role? Our Asset Management team is looking for a Graduate Engineer who is proactive, solutions-focused and has a passion for our environment. This is an exciting opportunity to get into the engineering space with Council and will expose you to a wide range of activities including: flood control and drainage infrastructure design, stopbank earthwork modelling and design, gravel resource allocation management, and engineering consenting advice.

You will be part of a team working in a fast paced and diverse environment. We have a large portfolio of work and some big projects to achieve in the next few years within the Hawke’s Bay region. We are committed to supporting your growth and development in this role. You will receive mentoring and guidance to enhance your skills and knowledge, both in the specific tasks outlined above and in broader engineering principles.

You will be able to remain calm under pressure, pick up systems with ease, and able to juggle multiple tasks on the go. You will also be a great communicator who gets along with a wide variety of people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
It is essential that you have a relevant tertiary qualification in an area such as river or coastal processes, engineering and/or hydrology. We need someone who is self-motivated, hands-on, and energetic with a ‘can do’ attitude. This is a team environment so you must be comfortable in an open plan office space, working with a diverse range of professionals. What we offer | Nga huanga mōu:
The salary range for this role is between $71,820 to $79,800 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
