Chef De Partie — Onehunga Cafe

Onehunga Cafe is looking for two passionate chef-de-partie to join our team.
Chef responsibilities include:
- Line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
- Oversee and organise kitchen stock and ingredients
- Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies
- Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
- Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
- Food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Work with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability, and training opportunities
- Verify that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
- Explaining and enforce hygiene regulations within the kitchen
At least three years experience in a professional busy kitchen is the main requirement for this role.
No sponsorship offered for this role at the moment, but it is an option in the future for the right candidate
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $31.80 – $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability
- What New Zealand visa do you currently hold?
