Registrar - Dermatology

Purpose and Scope of the Job


Examines, diagnoses, and treats the overall diseases of skin. Manages all aspects and the various facets of the dermatological services.


Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards


Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the organization Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines.



Examines, diagnoses the overall diseases of the skin and subsequently prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to the assessed medical conditions.



Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records and generate very accurate medical reports.



Examines patients, perform biopsies, and other diagnostic techniques of dermatology, and determine requirements for clinical laboratory tests. Interpret test results and evaluate examination findings.



Manages dermatological services and follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.



Formulates plans and procedures for dermatological services.



Coordinates dermatological services with other medical activities.



Maintains the highest professional standard of documentation in line with policies and procedures and internationally accepted standards.



Responsible to review outpatients summaries and shall prepare reports and statistical analysis as required of him; such reports will be prepared in a timely manner in accordance with the standards within the Department.



Serve as a registrar on dermatology and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.



Participates in and help establish the educational programs conducted by medical administration and provide instructions as required to the various departments in the form of a continuing education program.



Contributes in verification of the qualification and capabilities of all technical personnel as required by Head of Department.



Follows established policies and procedures.



Attends regularly scheduled meeting for the improvement of patient care services and delivery.



Maintains strictest confidentiality.



Co-ordinates and exercises overall professional control over the activities of Medical Registrars for ensuring that sound administrative and professional standards of medical practice are maintained.



Accepts all other additional assignments found necessary by the Head of Departmen.



Qualifications, Competencies and Skills


Education


MBBS & Master Degree



Experience


Minimum1 year experience in the same field after master’s degree



Licensure


Valid Kuwait License



Language


Fluent in English, Arabic would be an added advantage



Computer Proficiency


Good Computer Skills



Performance Competencies


Good communication skills



Knowledge of Required Organizational practices /patient safety standards.



Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.



Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the organization.



Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients’ culture and beliefs).



AHA certified Basic Life support provider.



Principle Working Relationships and Remarks


Medical Administrative staff, Peers , Nurses, Clinical Ancillary staff, Customer service staff and Secretaries.
