Role: Outbound Planner
Department: Short Distance (Ireland only)
Contract: Permanent Full time
Hours: 12:00-20:00 Monday to Friday (Flexibility in hours required)
Location: Blackchurch, Rathcoole, Co. Dublin.
Purpose Of The Role
A Road Freight Planner responsible for the daily planning and allocation of delivery and collection consignments across the variety of vehicles within our large domestic fleet. A crucial role within Dachser Ireland which comes with a high level of responsibility and empowerment. The core objective of the role is to maximise the utilisation of our domestic fleet with an emphasis on improving efficiency and revenue while also identifying and implementing performance improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Planning between 30 – 35 delivery drivers workloads each day.
• Strong focus on vehicle utilisation and revenue targets in line with goals set directly by the line Manager.
• Communicate and provide support to the full fleet of drivers & service partners throughout the working day
• Work with all internal teams & service partners to achieve a market leading customer service while also ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed in full & on time. •
• Identify and implement process and routing improvements with management support.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in a similar planning or logistics operations based role.
• Strong Irish geographical knowledge essential.
• Transport and Logistics related degree is desirable.
• Proficient in the use of transport management and IT systems.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of vehicle and packaging types along with rules and regulations within the Irish Haulage industry.
• Excellent Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and make reactive time sensitive decisions within a fast moving work environment.
• Strong written and spoken English skills essential.
