Health and Safety Officer

The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with client policies and relevant statutory provisions. The HSO must lead by example and serve as a role model in mobilising the team and ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are adopted on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular, formal site audits and carrying out inspections as directed in the Safety Management System.
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics such as noise levels, use of machinery etc.
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
- Assist in the initiation and organization of Health and Safety training for employees as needed.
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity.
- Manage, develop, and maintain incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
- Reviewing SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on-site.
- Carry out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
- 1+ years work experience in Health and Safety required.
- Minimum of a recognised Certificate in Health and Safety.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
- Experience in Construction is preferred.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
