Chief Commercial Officer

Over the years, Hang Seng Bank has been committed to serve its customers by providing full spectrum of insurance products including Life Insurance manufacturing, distribution of General Insurance and Medical products, and MPF business.
Insurance is a fast-growing business and is one of the key drivers of Hang Seng Bank. As a well-established insurance entity, we take care of every need of our customers with an optimized service excellence through the Bank’s retail and commercial network, with a dedicated team of professionals in place.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Chief Commercial Officer, Insurance.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee business and financial performance across the 4 major insurance business lines (Digital Life, General Insurance, Medical and MPF)
- Formulate and drive digital insurance commercialization strategy that aligns with the company's vision, enhances customer propositions, and drives market differentiation in the insurance industry.
- Accountable for the Direct channel business portfolio and sales target. Manage and formulate channel strategies in terms of platform, product suite and service to boost the business
- Manage the business relationships with insurance partners (including General lnsurance, Medical and Yuu business partners), to obtain maximum value and minimize risks whilst ensuring fair outcomes to our customers
- Work closely with Digital Banking and Marketing to optimize customer communications and contact strategy on digital platform based on insights from customer research, big data, digital funnel analysis, and use of new technology.
- Formulate MPF business strategies and marketing plans to expand the market shares and collaborate with different business partners within Hang Seng Insurance Company Limited (“HSIC”) and the Bank to optimize business opportunities and drive for cross referral opportunity to increase cross-product penetration
- Lead and implement a robust customer lifecycle plan that leverages analytics to drive digital sales and market share. Focus on optimizing customer engagement, portfolio deepening, retention strategies, and reducing time-to-market for new product offerings.
- Work closely with Digital Banking and Marketing to optimize customer communications and contact strategy on digital platform based on insights from customer research, big data, digital funnel analysis, and use of new technology.
- Champion a client-first culture, work closely with Digital Banking, Data Analytics and IT team to continuously improving UX/UI to enhance customer experience and drive conversion rates.
- Identify key risks and issues across potential strategies and support the development of risk mitigation solutions workings with other key stakeholders within Hang Seng
- University degree in a business-related discipline
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in insurance/ consulting/ marketing strategy roles in industry
- Innovative and strategic thinker, results-oriented
- Possesses strong strategic orientation, ability to think critically, and evaluate impacts of plans
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua an advantage
- Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
