Senior QC Laboratory Analyst

The Role:
We’re seeking a meticulous and methodical Senior QC Laboratory Analyst to develop the testing, analysis and release of our products. In this demanding and varied role, you’ll work closely with other departments to understand our production requirements and to plan the timely testing of our product batches across the team to ensure our production and testing schedules are met. Working collaboratively with the wider QC department you’ll oversee method validations, method developments, method transfers, as well as the analysis of a variety of samples including raw materials, packing materials and finished products using HPLC, FTIR, UV/VIS and GC techniques. All testing is conducted to meet MHRA and GMP compliance standards and as such you’ll help to mentor junior analysts, follow processes and instructions closely and make sure accurate records and documents are maintained at all times.
To support the smooth running of the department, you will report and investigate any process deviations in order to generate accurate information and ensure our testing remains safe and compliant. You’ll also take ownership for the calibration and monitoring of laboratory equipment and systems including preventative maintenance and technical troubleshooting. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to support cross-functional and departmental projects and proactively drive our continuous improvement initiatives to support best practice working.
The Person:
· Significant previous experience working within a laboratory environment, with good knowledge of EU quality regulations and GMP/GDP guidelines.
· Experience of conducting self-inspections, quality based investigations and change control processes.
· With an interest in science, you’ll have an analytical mind, a good level of numeracy and literacy and the ability to use data and reports to help inform decisions.
· Good time management skills with a good eye for detail – able to manage your own workload, even in a fast-paced and changeable environment to meet targets.
· Excellent communication skills – including written and spoken English
· Confident multi-tasking, decisive thinking and driven to reach results in set timeframes.
· A degree level qualification in a life sciences subject
