Mechanic | Frankfurt (Germany) | Permanent (Full-Time, 40 Hours)

We are looking to strengthen our team in order to provide professional facility management (upkeep and maintenance) for the church buildings and rented rooms in Frankfurt and neighbouring areas. Members and friends should be offered an appropriate environment in which they can feel the spirit and make holy covenants.
The base of operations is Frankfurt or, depending on where you live, another suitable community centre.

  • Carrying out minor repairs and various maintenance work.
  • Carrying out caretaker work.
  • Depending on professional qualifications, carrying out manual work.
  • Working together with external tradesmen.
  • Accompanying or carrying out maintenance work on building systems.
  • Supervision and support in the acceptance of services provided by external companies.
  • Reporting incidents and hazards inside and outside the building to the superior building manager (Facilities Manager).
  • Participation in operational planning meetings, coordination of administrative processes and reporting.
  • Further education and training provided by the employer to improve your own technical skills.

Specialist requirements
  • Completed vocational/technical training and practical work experience.
  • Safety-conscious work in accordance with health and safety requirements.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and mobile phones.
Basic knowledge of MS Office, learning how to use department-specific software and internet services.

Other requirements:
  • Lifting and carrying objects up to 25kg.
  • Use of tools and ladders.
  • Climbing stairs and accessing roof areas.
  • Repeated bending, kneeling and standing.
  • Travelling between council houses.
  • Willingness to occasionally stay overnight in a hotel.
  • Ability to work independently and as directed by the supervising Facilities Manager.
  • Class B driving license (formerly class 3, van with trailer).
  • Ability to communicate in German at a B2 level (written and spoken), and English at least at a B1 level (spoken).
