Project Buyer - Metal Structural Parts - (Temporary Position)

We are looking for a Project Buyer for metal pipes based in Lyon (France)
This is a temporary position for minimum 6 months from February 2025.
What you will do ?
At Volvo Group Purchasing you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.
As a Project Buyer for metal pipes, you will be responsible for a challenging portfolio, to manage supplier relationship and drive project execution with your suppliers.
You will contribute to segment strategies and collaborate very closely with your cross-functional stakeholders.
Your key missions will the following:
- Lead strategic sourcing projects to completion in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Drive commercial negotiations with suppliers
- Secure main project milestones and Supplier on-time and cost-effective deliveries
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and ensure implementation
- Drive cost reduction ideas generation. Lead cross functional work to implement such ideas
- Actively contribute to the team development, by bringing improvement ideas, support your peers, sharing good cases and ask for support when needed
Your future team
You will join our dynamic Structural Parts purchasing team, consisting of 12 Buyers with diverse backgrounds, based both in France and Sweden.

- Fluent in English, you are used to work in international environment
- You have a can-do approach with a positive mindset, a high level of energy, and ready to tackle challenges
- Comfortable in conflicts, you have strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong and agile team player, eager to learn and improve.
- 3+ years of experience in a purchasing role, ideally within automotive industry
- You have an adequate academic education, such as business or engineering background
