Statutory Accountant (Alajuela, Costa Rica)

- Manage and ensure the proper preparation and submission of all documents required for PROCOMER filings, audits, and other related governmental entities.
- Monthly presentation of data, for the generation of the Canon invoice (Procomer) to be paid.
- Upload accounting information from SAP to Soft-land in local currency (Colones), ensuring accurate data transfer in compliance with local regulations.
- Reconcile financial information to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Assist the LATAM Tax Director in gathering and validating financial information required for local tax obligations.
- Responsible to submit the information to external advisor´s necessary for the preparation of the monthly VAT obligations and annual CIT filings.
- Coordinate and provide financial data necessary for the preparation of tax requirements to the LATAM Tax Director and tax advisors.
- Prepare and present transfer pricing information to the Transfer Pricing Group.
- Utilize a strong understanding of Costa Rican tax regulations to identify and correct discrepancies in data provided for tax return preparation.
- This role will serve as the primary point of contact between the business and Tax Authorities, supporting with the gathering and monitoring of information, activities, etc. during Tax Audits / Information requests.
- Support the Local Comptroller with monthly MAPs review, follow-up, and timely closure of controls.
- Assist in the review of monthly financial figures to ensure timely and accurate corporate reporting.
What will you need to be successful?
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or tax compliance roles.
- Languages: Fluency in Spanish; proficiency in English is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Costa Rican tax laws and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of FTZ regulations.
- Competences: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of local tax compliance and financial reporting.
