Service Engineer, Energy & Automation, Energy, Americas

We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced Energy & Automation team for Energy Business in the Americas region. The desired location for this position is Colombia.

What will you be doing

As a Service Engineer, you will be performing various field service activities, including overhauls and repairs at both the customer job site and in the local workshop.

To be our ideal candidate you will have experience commissioning new power plants as an automation engineer.

As a Service Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:

Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
Perform overhauls and repairs on assemblies on-site and/or in workshops.
May interact with customers during the work execution.
May perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
Create the Service Work Reports.
Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
Participate in the development of new working methods within own responsibility area.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
General Skills:

Cost awareness and effectiveness
Reporting skills
Planning and target setting
Excellent communication skills
Good English level

Professional Skills:

Engineering degree in electrical fields
Experience with Alternators and energy generation Engines,
System and solution knowledge
Customer understanding
Experience in commissioning new power plants as an automation engineer
Experience with programmable logic controllers, frequency drives, electrical protection devices, computer systems, Ethernet networks, firewalls and OPC-servers.
Creating and presenting highly technical information to internal and external world-class experts
