Full Job Description
We are looking for Casual RPNs to join our team! Edion Healthcare INC is a transcending healthcare staffing agency that focuses on providing relief staff with the most qualified, experienced, and passionate RN’S, RPN to Long-term care, retirement homes, Responsibilities, and Duties:
· Assesses, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care to meet the residents' physical and emotional needs. Ensure resident care plan is initiated in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
· Communicate with families regarding the care and condition of respective residents as required.
· Provide direct resident care and participate in resident teaching.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of an appropriate plan of care for each resident.
· Liaise with attending physicians, psychiatrists, consultants, social workers, clergy, families or responsible persons, nursing, dietary, activity staff, etc. to ensure effective resident care is provided;
· Procure and administer medications including all injections and narcotics;
· Participate in the orientation, on-the-job training, and in-servicing of nursing staff as required;
· Supervise employees in varying areas of responsibility.
The ideal candidates will possess:
· Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses within their province;
· Minimum of 1yr experience but no experience will also be considered as orientations will be conducted
· A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term nursing. Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statutes which influence the operation of the Retirement Home and more specifically the nursing department;
· Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills and decision-making ability;
· Ability to work independently and co-operatively in a busy, multi-disciplinary situation/setting.
Must be available for weekend shifts

• Current CPR and first aid certificate from a WSIB approved Vendor
• A recent copy of a 2-step TB test within 1 year
• N95 mask fit certificate
• COVID vaccination Certificate
• All Immunization record - 2 step TB Test1, MMR, Tetanus, Hep B, Varicella, Flu Shot - annually.

Job Type: Casual
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Morning shift
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed
• Weekends only
