Quality Yard Control – (Scale House Attendant)
Salary Range: $32.76
Location: Burns Lake, BC
The Scale House Attendant plays a vital role by maintaining the cleanliness of the scale area, entering truck information, and ensuring that drivers and visitors receive proper orientation and service as they enter and exit the site. Additionally, they are responsible for upholding yard safety and making sure that visitors understand the site expectations when they access the fibre yard areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Inform all visitors of the site's PPE and basic safety requirements upon signing in.
- Track truck weights and monitor incoming materials in LIMS, documenting issues and communicating with operations and procurement as needed.
- Facilitate safe and efficient truck movement to scales and dumps, assisting drivers when required.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all job safety procedures.
- Perform administrative duties, including filing, typing, and scanning.
- Schedule and expedite administrative projects to meet operational requirements.
- Support team organization and communication.
- Communicate professionally via phone, email, and mail.
- Maintain supplies inventory and ensure stock levels are adequate.
- Keep the scale house and surrounding areas clean and orderly.
- Cross-train in various plant activities and projects.
- Manage internal and external relationships effectively.
- Adhere to policies for a productive workplace.
- knowledge and expertise with the team.
- Take ownership of personal responsibilities.
About you
You'll possess the following skills, abilities, and experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in an industrial or office/administrative setting is necessary.
- Ability to adapt to both team environments and independent work with minimal supervision.
- Must maintain a professional and positive attitude while collaborating well with others.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
