Mission
Birth to Six Parental Support Group of Windsor, know as Ready Set Go, established in 1996, forms a partnership with families of young children (ages birth to six) living within the downtown core. We assist families in overcoming obstacles such as hardships associated with being newcomers to Canada, poverty, neglect, social isolation, poor health, and inadequate nutrition.
Ready Set Go inspires parents/caregivers to build connections and celebrate their community. We share the responsibility for raising healthy, resilient children, and strengthening family well being.
Purpose
We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring that we fulfill our mission and serve our community effectively. This position requires a commitment to governance, oversight, and advocacy, as well as a willingness to collaborate with fellow board members and staff.

- Promoting, developing and fostering healthy parent-child relationships;
- Promoting access to available family/child-oriented community services;
- Developing and administering educational programs promoting parenting and the health and welfare of children, families and the community generally;
- Promoting cross-cultural activities aimed at benefitting children, families and the community generally;
- Developing and fostering community spirit;
- Educating and training members to carry out the objects of the organization;
- And such complementary purposes not inconsistent with these.
We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. Duties
- Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes.
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the organization meets its goals and objectives.
- Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and organizational policies.
- Serve on committees as needed, contributing expertise and insights to specific areas of focus.
- Engage with stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and community members, to understand their needs and perspectives.
- Advocate for the organization within the community to enhance visibility and support for its mission.
- Monitor organizational performance and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
