Marketing Assistant & Graphic Designer

Here's what you'll be doing....
You will play a key role in supporting the marketing team with both creative design and marketing efforts. This dual role involves developing visual concepts, designing marketing collateral for both print and digital platforms, assisting with marketing campaigns, events, and day-to-day tasks. Your ability to ensure consistency with brand guidelines and quality standards is essential to supporting the overall marketing strategy.

  • For this position, we currently have the option of working totally in office or in a hybrid model. This position may initially require some in-office time mixed with work from home during the onboarding phase.
Key Responsibilities include:
Creative Design & Visual Communication
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop marketing materials such as advertisements, posters, in-store signage, and promotional assets for print and web.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual and marketing materials.
  • Create and design Power Point presentations, infographics, and other branded collateral for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Edit and retouch product and lifestyle photography, ensuring quality images for digital and print use.
  • Assist with photography shoots and manage digital assets.
  • Support the creation of fillable forms, certificates, and videos for website and social media.

Marketing & Social Media Support
  • Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media content for platforms such as Linked In and the company website.
  • Design digital assets (banners, sidebars, carousels) for e Commerce and website use, ensuring brand alignment.
  • Design and deploy enewsletters.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on event planning, including designing invitations, creating ads and signage, and coordinating logistics and giveaways.
  • Source branded merchandise, office supplies, and premium items for marketing purposes.

Project & Administrative Support
  • Coordinate marketing projects from start to finish, managing multiple tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as responding to customer and cross-departmental inquiries and providing updates on project progress.
  • Support the marketing team on special projects and initiatives as required, contributing in a creative and collaborative manner.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
  • Post-secondary graduate, or equivalent combination of education/experience in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or graphic design.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Organizational skills and an ability to balance diverse responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design) and Microsoft 365 tools (Power Point, Word, Excel). Experience with Canva is a plus.
  • Experience with social media platforms, familiarity with video production and editing (preferred).
  • Design portfolio showcasing creativity and proficiency in graphic design and photography.
  • Ability to design for retail, creating materials such as catalogues, digital signage, and store signage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Photography skills, including experience with DSLR cameras and photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop, are an asset.
