General Accountability

• Product testing (Microbiological, Compositional, Organoleptic, Chemical)
• Environmental microbiological monitoring
• Pathogen swabbing and sampling
• Data entry and interpretation, including mass balance
• Preparation of COAs, and Manage Product holds
• Monitor and maintain Food Safety and Quality Systems Programs
• Calibration of Lab Equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Shipping/Receiving of Raw Milk and Cream, and Equipment Sanitation
• Break relief and plant support as required

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate

• University or College education in food science or related fields (Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Technology)
• Good knowledge of laboratory safety and safe chemical handling
• Good understanding of QC/QA programs, equipment and procedures
• Good knowledge of food safety
• Strong communication (written & verbal) & interpersonal skills
• Computer literate
• Strong analytical & problem solving skills
• Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and quality programs, such as QSL
• Proven ability to self-manage/motivate, as well as being a team player
• Knowledge of sanitary sampling procedures
• Other duties as assigned
• This is a one year role with potential to move to full time
