This is a fully remote position based in Canada. This role will require the potential to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.

Position Overview

The Junior Emergency Management Analyst supports project teams in creating emergency management plans across the five phases of emergency management: prevention, mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery. Additionally, the Junior Emergency Management Analyst assists with development and delivery of emergency management exercises of all sizes and scopes, supporting the development of scenarios, injects, learning materials, evaluation tools, and related reports. This position works as a member of a high-functioning team to build relationships with clients and develop products and deliverables that satisfy their project objectives and emergency management needs.

Responsibilities

• Complete technical work assigned by the project team, including:
  • Contribute ideas to support the planning for these projects.
  • Keep Project Manager(s) apprised of any challenges or barriers to competition of assigned project tasks.
  • Maintain effective communication with Project Manager(s) and other project team members.
• Complete administrative tasks as required to support Calian Emergency Management (PO’s, amendments, proposals, project plans, etc.).
• Support the implementation of systems and methods, internally, to help increase organization and efficiency for the Emergency Management team, including helping to develop templates, playbooks, filing systems, project tracking tools, and similar.
• Support other Business areas as required (ie. Nuclear for large nuclear exercises, Commercialization for EM events and trade shows).
• Support the development of the organization’s emergency management plan (and related documents) as requested.
• Support the development, delivery, and evaluation of emergency management training, including exercises and other scenario-based learning events, for diverse clients.
• Work collaboratively with other project team members to support and develop relationships with stakeholders and clients including government agencies, community groups, employees, volunteers and private organizations

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree, from a recognized post-secondary institution, in a related field of study (eg: Emergency Management, Disaster and Emergency Studies, Emergency Services, etc.)
• One year of relevant work experience in Emergency Management, government, public safety, consulting
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to read and write fluently in English(French as a second language would be an asset).

• Knowledge of Emergency Management, including mitigation, prevention, preparedness, response and recovery tools and systems
