General Description: A lead hand takes on a supervisory support role is generally responsible for daily cleaning tasks including but not limited to, monitoring common areas, replenishment of consumables, dusting, vacuuming, dry and damp mopping, cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes, and the collection of garbage and recycling.
Full time Lead Hand Midnight Shift 5 days a week from Sunday 7 pm to 4 am
Mondays to Thursdays from 9:30pm to 6:30 am / 42.5 hrs. week
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships, listen intently, and utilize clear & transparent communication.
  • Participate in all training as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations as outlined by the Company.
  • Oversee the account cleaning requirements are maintained at a consistent, and optimum level of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all areas to ensure work is being carried out in accordance with procedures and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Support Operations manager with ongoing training of hourly paid staff in the correct procedures of cleaning, according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Advise the Operations Manager of any changes in requirements that may necessitate changes in the work schedule or invoicing.
  • Obtain all special requests from the client, branch management and ensure that the Operation Manager is notified so that requests are carried out promptly and efficiently.
  • Support Operations Manager to ensure that periodic work is scheduled and completed on time in accordance with the account requirements.
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are followed and maintained as well as incident reports are completely timely and accurately and provided to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to Operations Manager.
  • Order supplies as per company policies and procedures and monitor inventory.
  • Maintain a record of all equipment and ensure all equipment is kept clean and serviced.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as a hands on team member for light and/or heavy duty tasks as required for shift such as:
  • Sweep/dry mop, and wash/buff floors and stairwells utilizing manual and power scrubbing equipment as applicable.
  • Vacuum carpets and matting in offices and common areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs in assigned buildings.
  • Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers.
  • Empty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport garbage/recycling to collection points
  • Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including: clean/disinfect and polish fixtures and appliances as applicable, door handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste receptacles and floors.
  • Replenish supply of consumables such as: toilet paper, hand towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
  • Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges from vertical surfaces.
  • Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
  • Must have experience within the cleaning industry.
  • Understanding the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Good communication in English.
  • Previous people management an asset.
  • Dependable and have reliable transportation.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.
