YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Identify non-compliances and execute continuous improvement initiatives;
Carryout tasks required to maintain compliance with environmental regulations, including compliance inspections, compliance sampling (water/air/soil), environmental monitoring and worker education;
Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment;
Compile and record environmental monitoring data for regulatory reporting requirements in environmental monitoring software;
Collect field data in remote locations in diverse environmental conditions;
Complete wildlife surveys;
Complete shipping and analysis request;
Complete spill follow up in the field;
Ensure all field equipment is safe and in working order (boat, motor, snowmobile);
Conduct Tool Box Meetings;
Work safely, effectively, independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Degree in an Environmental Field;
Some environmental field experience, preferably in mining operations;
Experience handling Snowmobile, ATVs and Boats;
Possess a Valid Driver’s License;
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada;
Seasonal contract from late March/early April to late September. Possibility of an extension, if workload requires it and candidate is available.
