Apprentice Auto Body and Collision Technician

Location: Bodyworks Collision and Glass St. John’s, NL
Salary: $22.69 to $29.17, plus up to 36% of contract incentive as per current collective agreement
Hours: 40 Hours per week,8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Union
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Year Two (2) or Year Three (3) or Year Four (4) Apprentice Auto Body and Collision Technician AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver’s abstract. Must have own transportation.
  • Physical stamina, with the ability to comfortably lift up to 80lbs at shoulder height.
  • A commitment to safety, valuing the use of required PPE, and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Tools: Own Tools/Equipment.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Steel-toed safety boots.
Automotive Service Technician Specific Skills:
  • Inspect, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, as required.
  • Inspect, repair, or replace automotive parts and structure.
  • Skills such as sanding, adjusting, replacing, priming all required.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive automotive repairs across a diverse range of vehicles.
  • Review and complete work orders.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods, attention to detail, ability to lift 80lbs.
