About the team
Our Power & Infrastructure Business Line provides high added value activities to the Global Business Units of ENGIE, the power generation sector, grid operators, and the industry in Europe. This covers applied research and on-the-field technical expertise.
As Performance Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the design, analysis and optimization of thermal installations and processes. Under the guidance of experienced engineers and experts, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of thermal solutions that cater to our clients' unique requirements. What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities as Performance Engineer
As a Performance Engineer, you will work alongside a supportive team, and will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your own career.
Your mission
- Manage or participate to projects related to combined cycle power plants, innovative thermal processes and industry processes in Europe and internationally (especially in Middle-East and Latin America).
- Conduct in-depth simulations, analysis, and modelling of thermal processes using state-of-the-art software tools to optimize performance and enhance efficiency,
- Collaborate with senior experts to assist in design and evaluation of thermal systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of thermal systems within larger projects,
- Foster a customer centric attitude; commercial or business development experience is a plus,
- Develop and maintain a strong technical network within your activities and respective expertise field,
- Contribute to the testing, calibration, and validation of thermal equipment, ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and safety regulations,
- Contribute to the development of new products and service activities related to thermal power plant process optimization, decarbonisation of existing and new assets, … (from fuel specifications to the emission monitoring).

Do you?
- Hold an engineering degree in mechanical or electrical domain, with a good knowledge of thermodynamic principles, heat transfer and fluid mechanics
- Are proficient in either Dutch, French, or English with a willingness to improve your language skills.
- Be customer-oriented with excellent communication skills, ready to travel within Belgium, Europe, and occasionally outside Europe for short-term missions.
- Bring your team spirit while being capable of working independently, taking initiatives, and developing synergies with internal departments and external partners.
