SBD’s European tax functions are located principally in Belgium (Mechelen) and Ireland (Dublin) The Mechelen-based position of European Tax and Transfer Pricing Specialist has recently become available.
Job description
Purpose of the job
Cooperating with the European Tax and Transfer Pricing Directors (both based in Mechelen), the primary responsibilities of this role will be ensuring full compliance of SBD’s European companies with rapidly changing European tax and transfer pricing rules and regulations as well as assisting on process improvements for tax and transfer pricing reporting.
Tasks

Ensure full compliance of SBD’s European legal entities with European rules and regulations, e.g. -
- Corporate tax and other tax (e.g. WHT) return preparation and filing
- Review of Statutory financials and tax computations
- Preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation
- Year End Tax Accounting (T-Schedules), Quarterly Tax Reporting and Tax Forecasting.

Analyze financial data from SAP, HFM, and other financial and business intelligence systems for purpose of
- Data retrieve, analysis, cleansing and processing; data-diagnostics; cooperate on improvement of existing software solutions and find/apply new systems for tax compliance/reporting purpose
- Monitoring and determination of operational TP - all intercompany transactions and the applied transfer pricing for all European legal entities and where necessary adjust this to our policies
- Working together with shared services and local finance accounting
- Document all affiliate transactions and review intercompany transaction reporting in local financial statements, tax returns and specific transfer pricing forms
- Support in determining the transfer pricing for future flows of good and services and setting this up in the ERP systems

Support and coordinate the (outsourced) transfer pricing documentation efforts
- Master file and local file preparation
- Industry and functional analyses
- Country-by-country reporting
- Consistency improvements
- GAP analyses
- Assist with benchmarking and valuations
- Assist in assuring that SBD European legal structure is tax- and cost-efficient.
- Assist with tax and transfer pricing audits
- Maintain and manage strong relationships with internal and external accounting, treasury, tax and transfer pricing teams as well as with international tax advisors.
Your Profile
- Strong finance and/or transfer pricing background with 4 to 7 relevant career experience preferable in a multinational company and/or tax consulting firm.
- Strong preference for detailed knowledge and working skills and experience with SAP & Hyperion Financial Management (and potentially other reporting tools like Qlikview)
- Able to apply technical tax rules in a practical business environment.
- Lateral thinker with a creative and flexible approach to tax management.
- Self-starter, hands-on attitude with plenty of initiative.
- Hard working with a sense of humor.
- Team worker with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to extract the best from external advisors.
- Fluent in English – French, German or Dutch is a plus but not required.
