We are seeking a Head of Software Development to lead our software development team for our novel microwave-based brain imaging device. In this position, you will lead our globally distributed software team to a successful product launch. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor degree in software engineering or similar field and at least 7 year experience in software development for medical devices along with solid AI development experience. A thorough understanding and experience using ISO 62304 is required, along with experience in developing AI processes for medical imaging.
This position is full-time, in-person, at our Vienna office, located in the Donaustatd area of Vienna.
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead the development of all software for the Company’s brain imaging device using agile development processes.

• Define and document the software requirements and translate the requirements into architectural designs.

• Evaluate and update the company’s software development processes to ensure full compliance with ISO 62304 requirements, including software versioning, configuration management, and defect tracking.

• Lead the AI development and neural network training effort to develop an AI-drive medical scanner products.

• Select appropriate technologies and architectures to implement AI strategies and neural network training, demonstrating image quality improvements.

• Act as the software expert, making appropriate decisions regarding language and implementation methods.

• Together with the QA Manager, perform risk analysis activities, identifying and mitigating risks and potential harm caused by the software.

• Lead the software verification effort, tracking results and statistics in the defect tracking system.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or similar field

• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in medical device software development, with at least 3 years as Software Architect.

• A thorough knowledge and practical experience implementing the requirements of ISO 62304.

• Previous experience in developing and applying AI processes for medical imaging in areas such as image fusion, digital twins, denoising, or similar.

• Profound experience in entire SDLC for medical signal processing is preferred.

• Experience in neural network training processes and an understanding of AI inference hardware requirements. (Nvidia CUDA)

• Proficiency in C++, PHP, Python, AI modules like Pytorch/Tensor Flow and other relevant programming languages.

• Ability to work well with a global development team.
