State Manager Intelligence

- Oversee the intelligence operational responses to major incidents, tactical operations and investigations to ensure timely and appropriate responses to complex and highly sensitive situations
- Engage with internal & external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and national security partners in the management and supervision of the high risk, high harm, complex needs cohort and those who exhibit ideological motivated violent extremism or those actively involved in serious organised crime to discuss and share information to assist in security and good order within correctional facilities and safety within the wider community
- Provide comprehensive and timely intelligence advice and products to management and stakeholders on operational, tactical and strategic issues to assist in the security and good order of correctional centres and within the wider community
- Prepare a daily Intelligence Situation Report (SITREP) for distribution to senior executive staff and key stakeholders
- Work with the individual Intelligence teams in QCSIG to set and organise work priorities so they deliver on broader organisational commitments
- Continue to enhance professionalism and to promote the ability of the corrections intelligence community through capacity and capability development of QCS intelligence staff across the State through direct engagement with Custodial and Community Corrections intelligence staff and management, and by attendance at conferences, leadership forums and meetings with senior managers
- Engage with the QCSIG leadership group in the oversight, development and coordination of collection requirements to meet service deliverables identified in support of agency intelligence priorities
- Ability to navigate and utilise corporate data information systems including the Queensland Police Records Information Management Exchange (QPRIME) and the QCS Total Management Intelligence System (TIMS)
- Coordinate with the QCSIG leadership group to identify intelligence priorities to meet service deliverables, key performance indicators and manage risk to custodial operations, community corrections and the safety of the community
- Oversight corporate governance, including risk registers and business continuity plans, to ensure compliance with legislation, policy and procedures
- Ensure all intelligence activities conducted within the branch comply with the QCS Intelligence Doctrine and the Intelligence and Investigation Branch Service Delivery Charter
- Maintain a good knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures to ensure compliance
- Coordinate after-hours/on call operational response arrangements, and ensure the arrangements are reviewed regularly
- Ensure that human resources and industrial relations processes and policies are adhered to, including equitable leave management and flexible working arrangements opportunities for staff
- Ensure Development and Expectation Agreements (DEAs) are in place for all staff within in the unit and any performance issues are addressed promptly and in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Ensure that professional development opportunities are provided to staff, in line with agreed DEAs.
- Maintain a good knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices, and relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Supervise, motivate and encourage the professional practice of staff in the performance of their duties
