Advanced Trainee – Rehabilitation
An opportunity exists for 1 Accredited Advanced Trainee in Rehabilitation to join our busy and professional team at Dubbo Health Service. You will provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. This position will include a 6 month in General Medicine.

Dubbo Health Service is a major rural referral Hospital and part of the Western NSW Local Health District. It provides a range of acute inpatient and ambulatory care services including general medical and surgical, maternity, gynaecology, paediatrics, rehabilitation, critical care, mental health, renal dialysis, oncology, palliative care, hospital in the home and diagnostic services.
The Health Service also offers a wide range of primary and community health services including child and family health services, mental health services and antenatal and postnatal services.
Dubbo Health Service is undergoing remarkable transformations under the Dubbo Hospital Redevelopment project. Stages 1 and 2 ($91.3 million), Stages 3 and 4 ($150 million) completed it includes:
- A new Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit
- A new Medical Imaging Unit
- A new Ambulatory Care Unit
- A new Renal Dialysis Unit (originally part of 1 and 2 works)
- A new Critical Care Floor comprising of:
- Coronary Care/Stroke Unit
- Intensive Care Unit
- Cardiac Catheter Laboratory (and Angiography Laboratory space)
- A new front of house entry and drop off zone
- A new Inpatient Unit
- Expansion to Oncology
- A new Front of House entry and drop off zone
- Upgrade of Women’s and Children’s Community Health; and
- Additional car parking on campus.

Where you’ll be working

· MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Completion of at least four (4) postgraduate years of medical practice.
- Completion of Basic Training requirements of the relevant Speciality College.
- Valid NSW Working with Children check.
- Cleared National Police check.
- Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions.
- To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupation Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
- You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to work health safety and wellbeing.

1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team including leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.
3. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
4. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), time management, problem solving and computer skills.
5. Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education.
6. Successful completion of the relevant College clinical examination.
