The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial health and ensuring operational efficiency across all finance-related functions. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, financial modeling, and cash flow management. You will play a critical role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, optimizing processes, and supporting growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Tax Management:

• Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations.
  
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, and stay updated on tax law changes to maintain compliance.
  
• Monitor and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  

Financial Modeling & Strategy:

• Develop, analyze, and refine financial models to support business planning, decision-making, and forecasting.
  
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the executive team based on financial data and market trends.
  
• Create and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and monitoring performance against targets.
  

AP/AR Management:

• Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, collections, and payments.
  
• Implement and monitor systems to track AR aging, manage credit policies, and minimize delinquencies.
  
• Optimize cash flow by efficiently managing AP cycles and vendor relationships.
  

Insurance & Risk Management:

• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage the company’s insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage for operational and employee risks.
  
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to identify and mitigate financial risks.
  

Leadership & Team Management:

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring professional growth and alignment with company objectives.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with overall business goals.
  

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  
• Proven expertise in accounting, tax compliance, and financial modeling.
  
• Experience managing AP, AR, and insurance processes.
  
• Experience working in a Mid Stage Start Up company
  

Skills & Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite) and financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  
• In-depth understanding of GAAP and relevant tax regulations.
  
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
  
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  
• CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
