Job Description

Performs assembly and analysis of all types of medical records. Maintains communication with other hospital departments to improve and problem-solve the flow of medical records.

• Performs re-route and final checking of medical records in order to adequately maintain the physicians delinquency lists.
  
• Answers the phone and handles requests from patients, healthcare providers, hospital staff and others regarding the release of health information in a timely and accurate manner.
  
• Adheres to regulatory requirements regarding the release of Protected Health Information.
  
• Prepares charts for scanning.
  
• Scans patient health records into electronic medical records and performs quality checks to ensure each page is properly scanned and that all pages are legible.
  
• Performs physician suspension letters as needed.
