Are you a detail-oriented and proactive accounting professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role?
We’re on the hunt for an Accountant to join a renowned hotel and vineyard in the picturesque Franschhoek region. This exceptional property offers two restaurants, a spa, and a working winery, delivering a unique blend of luxury and charm.
As the Accountant, you’ll oversee the full financial function, ensuring accurate monthly reporting and implementing systems that enhance operations across all business units. Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance, this position provides an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the financial heartbeat of a world-class establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive accurate and timely monthly reporting, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyse variances in budgets, actuals, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Manage cash flow, intercompany transactions, and forex payments.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and oversee Capex schedules.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and financial reporting standards.
- Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support system development for financial and operational needs.
- A minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, ideally within hospitality.
- Proficiency in Sage X3 and Microsoft Office; knowledge of INFOR HMS is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to accuracy, ethical standards, and service excellence.
- A team player who thrives under pressure and can adapt to dynamic challenges.
- Salary: Competitive package (negotiable based on experience).
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
