Field Applications Engineer

You will have the chance to contribute to project success by interpreting customer needs, identifying opportunities to solve problems with Living Optics technology, and cultivating new customers and a community of interest within the APAC region.

This role will be based in Singapore. It will require travel to customer locations, conferences and exhibitions. Occasional international travel to our regional offices (Taiwan, Japan) and Head Office in the UK will be required.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical expertise in support of sales and business development.
- Enabling our customers to use our products for their applications at their sites.
- Creating application showcase demonstrators for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating on projects with partners to test and integrate our product prototypes into application solutions.
- Develop ideas for next technology steps and support activities towards product development and applications.
- Playing a full and collegiate role in upholding and promoting the values of the company. ß
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelors level qualification in a technical subject.
- Comfortable programming in Python.
- A systems-thinker, capable of interpreting customer needs and atomising complex requirements.
- Good written and oral communications in English and Mandarin.
- Capable of representing complicated technical matters to a non-technical audience
- Hands on.
- Enjoys being in an office, lab, or field site working with equipment, and developing solutions.
- Able to travel internationally.
Desirable Requirements
- Exposure to collaborative software development practices, such as version control using Git.
- Some familiarity with electronics, embedded software, computer vision and machine learning (to a hobbyist level).
- Previous technical sales, technical support or applications development experience.
- Understanding of Japanese language a bonus.
