Job Purpose
1. Provide expert nutrition counseling to oncology patients, survivors, and the public, while supervising junior dietitians.
2. Lead the implementation of strategies for education and promotion of healthy lifestyles to prevent cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
3. Provide strategic leadership in oncology nutrition within healthcare systems and public domains, ensuring best practices in dietetic services.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Office Management
- Oversee the development and management of education materials, proposals, and presentations.
- Supervise the preparation, submission, and reporting of all deliverables in alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and quality standards for reports, programs, and projects.
- Monitor the impact of educational events and programs, and propose improvements to enhance outcomes.
Staff Management
- Supervise and mentor junior dietitians in delivering high-quality dietary counseling and education.
- Provide professional guidance and training to enhance team skills and performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for staff, identifying development opportunities and areas for growth.
- Foster a collaborative team environment to achieve department goals.
Resource Management
- Oversee the research and curation of nutrition content from credible sources, including local, international, and government guidelines.
- Develop and manage budgets for departmental projects and activities.
- Provide detailed monthly and annual expense forecasts, ensuring financial efficiency and accountability.
- Track and manage expenditures to stay within prescribed budgets while meeting project goals.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and sustain productive relationships with internal teams and external organizations.
- Act as a liaison between the dietetics team and the wider healthcare community to promote oncology nutrition and cancer prevention initiatives.
- Represent the organization in professional forums, conferences, and collaborative projects within the dietetic community.
- Engage with stakeholders to develop and implement impactful community-based programs.
- Advocate for public awareness of cancer prevention through education and evidence-based nutrition strategies.
