We are seeking a Project Director for one of our clients, an advertising firm from China. Established since 2009, our client specialises in offline events such as roadshows, pop-up events, store VIP events, brand launches and dinners.
With growing demand for related events from Chinese FMCG companies in Southeast Asia (mainly in Malaysia and Thailand), our client is seeking an experienced Project Director based in Malaysia to spearhead their expansion into said region.
Job Description:
1. Project Management and Execution

• Plan, organise, and execute various exhibition and event activities.
• Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, ensuring events are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards.
• Maintain communication with clients, partners, and vendors to ensure collaboration.
• Monitor project execution at all stages, resolving any issues during implementation.

2. Team Management

• Manage and train the project team to enhance their professional skills and ensure efficient work.
• Assign tasks and monitor team progress to ensure project goals are met.
• Provide guidance and support to help team members overcome work challenges.

3. Client Relationship Management

• Maintain and manage client relationships to ensure their needs are met and satisfaction is enhanced.
• Communicate with clients regularly to gather feedback and continuously optimize project plans.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships to foster business growth.

4. Market Analysis and Strategic Planning

• Analyze market trends and develop strategies for exhibition projects and marketing plans.
• Keep abreast of industry trends to support business decision-making.
• Continuously innovate project formats to enhance the company’s market competitiveness.

5. Budgeting and Cost Control

• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
• Ensure project profitability by analyzing cost structures and improving resource utilization.

6. Risk Management and Crisis Handling

• Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies to reduce risks during implementation.
• Handle unexpected situations in projects promptly, ensuring smooth execution.

Candidate Requirements:

• Over 10 years of experience in public relations events and exhibitions.
• Familiar with industry processes and project operations, with extensive knowledge of project management.
• Strong leadership and resilience, able to perform efficiently in high-pressure environments.
• Experience working in Southeast Asia (primarily in Malaysia and Thailand).
• Proficiency in Chinese for communication purposes.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM12,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
