Technical Officer

Duties:
- Day-to-day maintenance of equipment and research infrastructure.
- Daily administrative support, including budgeting, equipment procurement, and inventory management.
- Providing safety orientation and technical support to users (students, research staff, and faculty members).
- Ensuring safety and access control in compliance with university safety regulations.
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures for equipment and research activities.
- Conducting tours of the OCRF for external parties to promote ocean science research and education.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in an environmental science, biology, or chemistry laboratory.
- Preferred experience in environmental science research and the maintenance of marine organisms.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong communication skills.
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
