The opportunity

The Global OPEX, Quality, and Planning Fulfillment Manager plays a vital role within the Global Laboratory organization of Hitachi Energy's High Voltage Business Unit. In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for promoting operational excellence and ensuring the highest quality standards across our IEC 17025 accredited laboratories situated in Xiamen (China), Ludvika (Sweden), and Baden/Oerlikon (Switzerland). By implementing unified processes and fostering collaboration among these diverse locations, the manager will enhance efficiencies and optimize laboratory performance. Additionally, the role involves strategic oversight of quality management practices to maintain compliance with industry standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives that align with the organization’s objectives and customer needs.

How you’ll make an impact

• Standardize and streamline testing processes across all laboratories to ensure consistent procedures and standards, utilizing unified ERP systems
  
• Oversee quality assurance across various sites, providing guidance in line with IEC 17025 and ensuring consistent quality standards across locations. Facilitate collaborative forums for Quality, Planning, and Fulfillment
  
• Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with standardized processes and IEC 17025 requirements, focusing on laboratory administration at all locations
  
• Maintain consistent procedures for internal offering, billing, and invoicing with a focus on efficiency, particularly in coordination with PGHV R&D. Work with external testing organizations to establish streamlined procedures for ordering, offering, and invoicing
  
• Review and analyze pricing structures and test tariffs. Collaborate with the Laboratory Management Team to set test shift pricing
  
• Develop and manage a website with laboratories offering for both internal and external customers, in partnership with the Global Head of Laboratories and the Marketing team
  
• Recommend strategic investments to the Laboratory Management Team and assist the Global Head with strategic initiatives. Maintain global overview of laboratory Cap Ex
  
• Represent the Global Laboratories PG2132 at the PGHV Global Capex Board and be member of the Quality R&D team
  

Your background

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Economics is required
  
• Proven leadership and operational experience, with a track record of process development and continuous improvement
  
• Technical expertise in testing high voltage products to assess laboratory infrastructure
  
• Proactive communicator with cross-cultural awareness and strong customer relations skills
  
• Knowledge of IEC 17025 standards is desirable
  
• Willingness to travel globally on a limited basis
  
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles
  
• Fluent in German and English
