Engineering Manager / Mechanical (Automotive Engineering)

- Oversee and manage all engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and alignment with company objectives.
- Plan and assign tasks to engineering teams in Singapore and Myanmar, ensuring efficient workflows and on-time project completion.
- Lead the design process from concept to prototype, ensuring product specifications, performance, and cost analysis are met.
- Utilize 3D modeling software (Solid Works/Creo) to create optimized designs, perform engineering calculations, and ensure manufacturability and adherence to physical and performance standards.
- Work closely with the production and assembly teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with production capabilities.
- Provide ongoing support for current and new designs, addressing any technical issues that arise.
- Review engineering work across projects, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and specifications.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing work instructions, and quality control procedures.
- Estimate manufacturing process hours, manage product costing, and collaborate with the sales team to optimize pricing and margins.
- Ensure designs meet industry regulations and standards for vehicle safety, environmental impact, and performance. Lead efforts to incorporate sustainable practices into product design and manufacturing, optimizing for cost-efficiency and environmental impact.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 4 years in automotive, manufacturing, machine shop, or assembly environments. Proven experience in engineering design, analysis, and developing 3D solid models (Solid Works, Inventor, CREO).
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, material processing techniques, and BOM management (automotive, aerospace, or rail industries).
- Experience in an engineering release and change management environment is an advantage. Familiarity with automotive terminology, vehicle systems, and build processes is a plus.
- Proficient in ERP applications, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team motivation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in project management methodologies, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear, concise reporting and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with strategic thinking and risk mitigation in the design and production process.
- Experience in managing project budgets, resource allocation, and cost analysis.
- Ability to identify team training needs and mentor staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
