Nurse Phlebotomist

Position Title: Nurse Phlebotomist
Reports to: Blood Center Manager and Medical Officer
Purpose of Statement: Performs initial donor screening procedures and receives requests for blood.
Responsibilities:
- Undertakes the actual blood extraction in the office or field (MBD)
- Provides donor care before, during and after blood extraction.
- Prepares collected blood for pre-storage.
- Prepares necessary equipment and supplies such as blood bags, test tubes, blood labels, samples for malaria screening, etc.
- Ensure availability of consumables such as cotton balls, donors card, blood labels, plasters, gauze, and linen, not only for their own but use by other members of the team.
- l Prepares the necessary equipment, and supplies such as plastic bags, blood bags, test tubes, and blood label. See to it that there are enough supplies to be used for the day and for the succeeding duty.
- l Maintain and upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of the bleeding room, equipment, and supplies as well as the adjacent area.
- l Checks the completeness of the Daily Bleeding Accomplishment Report (Donors Daily Inventory Sheet)
- Undertakes the actual blood extraction in the office or even in Mass Blood Donations.
Work Experience:
- Registered Medical Technologist/Nurse
- Must have one-month experience in blood extraction in blood bank setting
- At least one-month voluntary service in Philippine Red Cross
- Fresh passers are welcome to apply!
