The Role
The client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Back-End Web Developer with specialized experience in Word Press to join their digital marketing agency. As a back-end developer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the functional core of the websites. You will be responsible for developing custom plugins, enhancing the Word Press infrastructure, managing databases, and ensuring website performance and security.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Word Press architecture, be experienced in PHP, SQL, and APIs, and have a strong understanding of database management and server environments. If you're passionate about writing clean, maintainable code and enjoy problem-solving, then this is for you!
Performance Objectives

• Maintain and optimize databases (primarily My SQL) to ensure site performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Enhance website performance, ensuring speed, security, and efficiency across multiple Word Press websites.
• Create and maintain API integrations for third-party services and custom applications.
• Manage server environments, including website deployment, backups, and hosting configurations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot site issues, including bugs, performance problems, and security vulnerabilities.
• Write efficient, well-documented PHP code following best practices.
• Optimize and troubleshoot Word Press queries for improved performance.
• Develop custom Word Press plugins and themes tailored to client requirements.
• Ensure that all web applications adhere to modern security and data protection standards.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, Word Press updates, and industry trends.

Capabilities and Key Competencies

• 3-5 years of experience as a Back-End Developer, with a strong focus on Word Press.
• Proficiency in PHP, specifically as it relates to Word Press development.
• Solid experience with My SQL and database management.
• Experience in custom plugin development and API integrations.
• Understanding of server-side technologies, including Linux, Apache, and NGINX.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/deployment practices.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Strong knowledge of website performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Ability to manage Word Press security, including vulnerability scanning and patching.
• Experience in server management and deployment processes.
• Preferred experience:
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and SEO tools.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting environments like AWS, Google Cloud, or Digital Ocean.
• Basic front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, and Java Script) to support full-stack workflows.
• Experience with Word Press installations and staging workflows.
