EA Networks

Policy Researcher

FULL TIME

November 29, 2024

About Us:
EA Networks is a locally owned cooperative network company based in Mid Canterbury. It owns and operates the region’s
electricity distribution network, as well as an advanced fibre optic communications network. Being locally owned and
operated means EA Networks and its 130 staff have strong ties to the local community that they work and live in. The core
focus for EA Networks is maintaining a resilient electricity and fibre network while supporting the local economy and
community.

The Role:
Are you a skilled researcher or policy writer who has experience crafting compelling documents? Do you have an interest
in creating and defining the employee experience for the EA Networks team from the ground up and contributing to a
positive work culture. This may be the job for you! We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy Researcher to join our
tight-knit People team on a fixed-term basis, 30-40 hours per week for a period of three months.

The Policy Researcher will primarily be responsible for designing, developing and supporting implementation of our
Employer Value Proposition (EVP) which means you will need to be comfortable, researching information and carrying out
consultation and liaising widely across the business. You will also get involved in company policies, procedures and
guidelines specifically around privacy and data and our retention and disposal of documents.

Got what it takes?

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, research, analyse and communicate a wide range of information.
  • Ability to develop policy and reach successful outcomes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with people at various levels to find solutions.
  • Human Resources or Business qualification and/or relevant experience would be advantageous.
  • Full Class 1 New Zealand Drivers Licence.

On Offer:
You will get to collaborate with like-minded people who are passionate about keeping the lights and internet on throughout
the Ashburton District. Being a part of the Ashburton District means you are a part of strong supportive community with a
great semi-rural lifestyle. We offer competitive remuneration and on-site staff parking.

Join Us:
To apply, please submit your CV and Cover Letter. Applicants must have the right to work in NZ. Pre-employment checks
including a medical, drug and alcohol test and Ministry of Justice checks will apply. For further information please contact
Simone Hopwood. Applications will be reviewed as they are received so advertisement may close early.
