We are looking for a Planner to join our team.
About the role:
Based in Christchurch, this role reports to the General Manager Construction and works closely with the Operations Manager and project teams. It is integral to the success of our projects and supports our mission to create a better future in construction.
As the Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing detailed construction programmes, actively contributing to project planning and execution. Your work will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality outcomes that align with our vision and values.
By collaborating closely with the New Business and Preconstruction teams, you will help elevate our bidding strategies and presentations. Together, we will challenge conventional approaches, drawing on experience and innovative thinking to differentiate ourselves in a competitive market.

Key responsibilities include:
- Producing and managing accurate construction programmes that align with bid and project requirements, while providing clear direction on timeframes and workflow sequencing.
- Contributing to project planning by reviewing construction methods, recommending alternatives, and ensuring alignment with objectives and industry standards.
- Monitoring and maintaining the contractual programme, tracking milestones, and supporting claims with comprehensive documentation.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships through clear communication and collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in developing and managing accurate construction programmes, with a focus on clarity and milestone tracking.
- Strong analytical skills to assess and optimise construction methods, workflows, and contractual requirements.
- Expertise in project planning, including methodology and logistical alignment with project objectives.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Construction or Project Management.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in a construction planning role.
- Proven experience in a large construction or multi-project environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective solutions.
- Excellent organisation and time management capabilities.
- Clear and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify opportunities and align teams to a common approach.
- Proficient presentation and negotiation skills.
