Responsibilities:

• To assist in planning daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer orders and deadlines.
• To monitor production progress and ensure targets are met.
• To coordinate with the production manager to allocate resources (materials, labor, and machinery) efficiently.
• To supervise and manage production teams, including welders, machinists, and fabricators.
• To assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity.
• To provide guidance, training, and mentoring to staff to improve skills and efficiency.
• To ensure fabricated metal products meet quality and safety standards.
• To conduct regular inspections of production processes and finished goods.
• To work with the quality assurance team to address defects and implement corrective actions.
• To monitor the operation and maintenance of metal fabrication equipment (e.g., CNC machines, welding equipment, laser cutters).
• To coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• To recommend upgrades or new equipment to improve production efficiency.
• To analyze production workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• To implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
• To support automation and technology adoption where applicable.
• To monitor raw material levels, including metals, welding supplies, and consumables.
• To coordinate with procurement to ensure timely restocking of materials.
• To minimize material wastage during fabrication processes.
• To prepare and present production reports, including efficiency, output, and quality metrics.
• To collaborate with other departments, such as sales, design, and logistics, to align production with business goals.
• To act as a liaison between the production floor and management.
• To drive KPIs across all areas of the production department, accountable to yield, product quality improvement and people development.
• To develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
• To ensure all the workers are following and comply to all safety requirements.
• To ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and regulations.
• To conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for employees.
• To promote a safe working environment and address hazards promptly.

Qualification(s):

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Required skill(s): Management, Leadership, Leadership and Team Management abilities, Problem-solving and analytical thinking, Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
• At least 5 years of experience in metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment in production line.
• Hands-on experience with metal fabrication techniques like welding, cutting, and forming.
• Knowledge of CNC machinery, CAD/CAM software, and other fabrication tools.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Strong understanding of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals.
