Introduction:
The Bank requires assistance in the support and maintenance of the Jaspers database application. The Jaspers database application aims to cover the entire lifecycle of advisory activities provide by Jaspers and includes the initiation and structuring of assignments, their approval, as well as their management and monitoring. This application uses Java, JBoss, Java EE, Struts, Spring, Java Design Patterns, Java Script, Oracle database.

The scope of support is expected to include, but not be limited to, login, speed/performance, functionality, upload/download, and data consistency. The consultant is expected to work autonomously, but in close collaboration with the JASPERS IT Officer.

Skills, knowledge, experience required:

• 7 years’ experience with business analysis and/or requirements engineering in a financial services institution (investment bank, retail bank, insurance undertaking, etc.);
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and software tools for agile planning as Jira;
• Proficiency in English (B2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or equivalent).

Desirable:

• Experience creating documentation such as business case documentation or business requirements summaries;
• Ability to quickly learn the objectives, structures, operations and policies of a new business area;
• Strong problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills;
• Proven interpersonal skills and an ability to influence senior leaders and peers;
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills.

Duties/role:

• Providing daily support;
• Acting as single point of contact towards users and, if applicable, to other IT teams;
• Performing problem follow-up and resolution;
• Prioritising;
• Conducting a root cause analysis;
• Preparing documentation of the processes;
• Maintaining a log of all user support requests (including resolution) and providing monthly summaries to the JASPERS QMU Officer in a format to be defined at the start of the assignment;
• Updating the manuals wherever necessary;
• Identifying needs to improve the design and/or operation of the JASPERS applications;
• Supporting JASPERS staff in processing ad hoc requests for data insertion, extraction and manipulation from JASPERS RDBMS;
• Providing technical support to end-users (JASPERS experts based in regional offices) with any difficulties they experience in using JASPERS applications and solving those difficulties as quickly and efficiently as possible;
• Performing bug fixing;
• Conducting problem analysis including debugging, if applicable, together with the user and other IT teams;
• Proposing and designing solutions including estimation;
• Performing non-regression testing, pre-release testing of newly developed functionality, etc.
• Providing evolutive maintenance;
• Conducting business analysis, if needed;
• Performing periodical clean-up;
• Providing release management;
• Performing branch management (i.e. patching and merging);
• Using and configuring build environment;
• Building releases;
• Providing continuous improvements;
• Challenging existing processes with the aim of reaching higher efficiency;
• Automating repetitive tasks.
