Isra AID is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian aid agency dedicated to supporting populations in crisis around the world. Currently operating in 11 countries around the world, the organization’s headquarters is based in Tel Aviv.
Isra AID’s headquarters leads the organization’s worldwide activity it is also responsible for providing oversight, guidance and support to the different projects.
The FP&A Director’s position is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the leading humanitarian aid organization in Israel and a rising player internationally in the development sector.
Main scope of work:
The FP&A Director oversees Isra AID’s budgeting, controlling, monitoring and financial compliance functions around the globe and is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership to Isra AID missions. This role requires a deep understanding of non-profit finance, budgeting, and reporting, with a focus on ensuring financial sustainability and accountability across diverse programs and regions.
The FP&A Director is in charge of a team of 3 HQ FP&A Officers and reports to Isra AID’s CFO.
Duties and Responsibilities include:

Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of Experience in Finance Management, ideally in the non-profit sector.
Education: Relevant educational background (B.A. in Finance Management, Economics or similar, M.A. is an advantage).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in budgeting, setting up financial controls, data analysis. Familiar with ERP Systems (preferably Net Suite). Accounting background or experience is an advantage (CPA, CFA, ACCA or equivivalent).
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge: Familiarity with international accounting standards and non-profit regulations. International experience.
Languages: Required fluent English (written and spoken), professional Hebrew and other languages are an advantage.

Strategic financial planning
- Develop and implement the organization’s financial strategy, aligning it with the organizational strategic objectives.
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management, including forecasting and scenario planning.

Financial Control and Monitoring
- Conduct thorough financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Provide support and guidance to team members in field of expertise.

Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of projects and countries to donors, government and other external parties.
- Prepare internal reports and present them to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and reporting standards specific to NGOs.

Grant Management
- Collaborate with Development & Communications and Program teams to develop/oversee financial proposals and restricted donor applications.
- Monitor grant expenditures and provide financial oversight to ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial literacy and support programmatic decision-making.
Representation
- Have a thorough understanding of Isra AID's mission statement, organizational identity, and theory of change.
- Raise the profile of Isra AID, work, and country missions through active participation in Interaction forums and external events when possible.
- Serve as an advocate for the country's missions and the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Safeguard Responsibilities
- Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the program by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Responsible for ensuring team members are appropriately trained, and supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
